In Editing, Family, Newborn, Pets

Sweet squishy Fletcher brought his whole family for his Oh Baby newborn session. Big  brothers Jack and Joey kept an eye on us the whole time. Little Fletcher was a real trooper and made it through all the props and poses we asked of him.

To start the session I posed Fletcher in a vintage farm bucket on the wood backdrop. I shot all of his individual images and then took him out of the bucket for safety. I then did individual photographs of Jack and Joey each sitting next to the bucket. I combined these three images in post production.

Safety is paramount in my studio and posing dogs and babies needs extra attention. I have a background in the veterinary/shelter field working as a veterinary assistant which provided me with almost a decade of animal handling/training. I am very comfortable working with and especially reading dogs.

That all being said – Dogs and babies do not go together in the studio. It’s in everyone’s best interest to shoot separate and safely. This does cause more editing time for me in the end, but it’s worth it! Just look at these adorable photos!
