faq

Where are you located?

My home studio is located in Aylmer QC, 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! We are a dog and cat friendly home. My animals are not allowed in my studio space while I am working. Both Izzy and Pepe are kept upstairs while we make some great images.

Do you edit all your images?

Yes I do. Every image you see/receive is hand edited one at a time by me and only me. Photography is my art and taking the images is only half of my vision. The final product/vision is only after I am done editing your session.

Can I print my digital images?

Absolutely. You have free printing rights to your digital images. They are cropped in a manner that allows you to print in any proportion without losing more than the edges of your image. HOWEVER, I cannot guarantee how your images will look once printed if not printed through my professional printing lab. Every store printing lab (Walmart, Loblaws, Coscto, etc.) has different printer settings. Your images may turn out with a strange colour cast, too dark, too light, too much contrast. I recommend printing through my online gallery to ensure your images look like your digital images. My computer is calibrated to the same printer settings as my professional printing lab to ensure proper colour representation. After all, your walls deserve the best prints!

What types of products do you offer?

I offer a range of sizes for both prints and canvases. All of my images are images are printed through a professional printing lab to ensure proper colour representation.

Can I purchase digital files?

All of my session packages come with a minimum amount of digital images included (dependent on which session you choose) The digital images you receive are high resolution ready for printing. If you would like to purchase more images from your gallery you will have an a-la-carte option as well as a full gallery purchase option

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may take away from the overall product delivery. You will receive only the best images from your session. I am trained to narrow down the best of your images – so you don’t have to!

What should I wear for my maternity session?

There are a few options for your maternity session wardrobe

  • A Maxi dress – They look amazing on any pregnant body because it’s incredibly flattering.
  • Solid colours – Since the main focus in your maternity shoot is your bump, don’t let bold patterns or prints distract from it.
  • A belt – Using a thin belt above your tummy extenuates your waist line and your bump! It’s also a simple way accessorize  with out going overboard.
  • Tight clothing – Pregnancy is a beautiful thing! You have gorgeous pregnant body curves, opt for a beautiful tight bodycon dress and rock that bump.
  • Go Timeless – Let’s avoid the wardrobe regret 20 years from now…A great option for this would be some jeans, a simple top and a pair of cute boots. There’s nothing wrong with going a little more simple. Accessories are a great way to bring it up a notch.
When is the best time to have a Maternity Session?

I recommend booking your maternity session for between 30-34 weeks. These few weeks are a great time because your belly is nice and round but not too heavy yet.

How soon should I schedule my session?

It’s never too early to schedule your session! I tend to schedule 6-8 weeks ahead of time. If you are in need of a weekend session the earlier you contact me, the better as they book up quickly.

Where would the session take place?

Your preference! Most of my maternity sessions are scheduled outdoors and in the evening around that lovely golden hour before the sun sets. If you are not a fan of the outdoors I also offer in studio sessions as well as lifestyle home sessions. Contact me to discuss the options and choose the right type of session for you.

Do you photograph all year long?

YES! I shoot all year even in our lovely -30 Ottawa winters if that’s what you’re looking for ;)

What happens if it rains?

I keep an eye on the weather approaching the session date. I will stay in contact with you if it looks as though we will be rained out and we will promptly reschedule.
